Intergaz Ltd was established in July 1973 by Mr. Kyriacos John Pittalis originating from Agios Ioannis, Agros, an accountant based in London. Its working activities were stopped before they even started as a result of the Turkish invasion and its newly constructed buildings became shelter for refugees. The Company initially operated as a production unit in August 1976 and gradually developed its presence in the Cyprus market by adding to the market new cylinders to better serve its customers.
In 1988, the Company acquired its own sea berth to facilitate Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) imports through LPG sea tankers. Since 1992 Intergaz commenced its ‘bulk’ operations, initially with two LPG road tankers imported from UK, to supply LPG direct through tanks for households and businesses of various sizes. In 1997 the Company pioneered in establishing the first fully automatic and computer controlled LPG cylinder filling plant which also incorporates automatic loading and unloading of LPG cylinders through its pallet plant.
In 2005, Intergaz acquired two LPG sea tankers and commenced LPG imports and operations with its own LPG vessels through its subsidiary company Jomaro Ltd, serving the needs of the island. Jomaro also supply product to other destinations in the Mediterranean, Adriatic and Black Sea area. The Group is now trading with numerous countries generating foreign income for the Island. A major upgrade of the fleet and equipment of LPG vehicles was achieved in 2007 to be in compliance with the requirements of the European Directive ADR, for the transportation of dangerous goods.
In 2011, Intergaz introduced into the Cyprus market with its new innovative lightweight cylinders made of composite material, which combine safety, ergonomics and energy saving in a visually attractive appearance, and being environmentally friendly.
For over 40 years, since 1973 Intergaz has gained full recognition in the Cyprus market. Its presence is everywhere; in every household, business and industry.
Intergaz prides itself in servicing the energy needs of its customers in a safe, efficient, and pioneering manner, yet remains a family owned organisation with the support of long standing staff.
